Comparison, updated September 2026
Soon vs Assembled
Two modern workforce management tools for support teams. Assembled suits large digital support operations that need adherence, a BPO vendor-management add-on and AI agents. Soon suits in-house and multi-client teams that want to plan mixed work by the interval, and to start on their own or with the founders and the people who build it.
Soon wrote this comparison. Assembled's details come from its public pages, linked below, checked . Assembled's details were last checked on 28 September 2026.
The short answer
Assembled is workforce management for larger support teams, with real-time adherence, BPO management and AI agents, priced from $25 per agent per month plus a platform fee. Soon is workforce management for in-house and multi-client teams, from $4 per user per month with a free trial, interval forecasting and activity planning. You can start on your own, or the founders and the people who build the product will onboard you and support you once you are live.

Enterprise white-glove onboarding: "up and running in just a few weeks". |

|
| Data location | Database and backups on AWS eu-west-1 (Ireland). Intercom and Sentry process data in the United States. | Not checked. Left blank rather than guessed. |
The verdict
Choose Assembled if you run a large digital support operation, need real-time adherence, want its BPO vendor-management add-on, or want AI agents from your workforce management vendor, and your budget fits per-agent pricing plus a platform fee. Choose Soon if you are an in-house or BPO team of roughly 10 to a few hundred, want a free trial and published prices, plan mixed work by the interval, work in Outlook or Google Calendar, and want to work directly with the people who build the product.
Where Assembled is the better choice
Real-time adherence is on Assembled's entry tier. The pricing FAQ (checked 28 September 2026) says Core includes essential scheduling, time tracking, real-time adherence monitoring and staffing analytics, with Slack or email alerts when agents are out of adherence. Real-time adherence compares the state an agent is in now with the state the schedule expected. Soon does not offer it. If supervisors run the day by watching that state, pick Assembled.
The integration list is wider. Assembled's integrations page (checked 28 September 2026; it redirects to the features URL) lists 31 connections, including Zendesk, Salesforce Service Cloud, Intercom, Kustomer, Gladly, Gorgias, Dixa, Genesys Cloud, NICE, Five9, Talkdesk, Amazon Connect, UJET, Zoom, Workday, HiBob, Google Calendar, and QA tools such as evaluagent, Klaus and MaestroQA. A forecast that must read a helpdesk or contact center platform on day one has more published connectors there.
BPO vendor management is a published add-on. The pricing page describes a BPO capacity planner, a BPO billing report, restricted site permissions, and schedule sync with a BPO's own workforce management system. Soon works with BPO and multi-client teams too. It is not a separate product, so it does not publish that billing report, those permissions, or that sync. If you need the add-on, Assembled is the product that publishes it.
AI agents and a copilot are sold beside the schedule. The pricing page lists AI Agents from $0.65 per conversation and AI Copilot from $35 per month (checked 28 September 2026). Soon's AI scheduling assistant on Scale, and the AI Agent in beta on Grow, help build a schedule. They are not a conversation-priced agent. If the agent and the roster must come from one contract, Assembled prints both prices.
The company is built for that larger motion. Assembled's about page (checked 28 September 2026) says it launched in March 2020, raised a $51 million Series B in 2022, serves 50 or more countries, schedules 100,000 agents a month, and has offices in San Francisco and New York. Enterprise adds a designated account manager, a shared Slack channel "for direct access to our team", quarterly business reviews and white-glove onboarding. Core and Pro stay on email, Office Hours and the help center. This page does not guess how much those account managers can change the product.
Where Soon is the better choice
Soon's pricing page lists Start at $4, Grow at $8 and Scale at $16 per user per month, billed yearly, excluding VAT. Start has a $39 monthly minimum with 10 users included, and is marked coming soon. Trials are 14, 30 and 60 days, with no credit card. Grow and Scale start from the site. Assembled lists $25, $45 and $75 per agent per month plus an unpublished platform fee, and offers a demo rather than a trial.
Mixed work is planned as blocks inside the shift: breaks, phone, email, back office and training. Intraday means re-planning that day, not watching it. Activity scheduling starts on Start, staffing requirements and a chart on Grow, and automated activity scheduling plus coverage tracking on Scale. Forecasting uses 15-minute, hourly or daily intervals up to a year ahead, by queue, channel or location, with Erlang C or Erlang A for queued work. Forecasting is included on Scale. Automatic scheduling starts on Grow. Staffing requirements hold the coverage numbers. The intraday glossary defines the term, and the forecast tool runs the intervals.
Two-way Outlook and Google Calendar sync are on Start. The pricing FAQ says every plan is on the Azure Marketplace. Enterprise adds SSO (SAML or OIDC) and SCIM. Shift swaps and cover requests are on every plan, with manager approval (shift scheduling). Assembled's integrations page lists Google Calendar and Slack. We found no Outlook entry on 28 September 2026. That is a gap on the page we read, not a claim that Assembled cannot connect to Outlook another way.
Soon Technologies B.V. is registered in the Netherlands and has built the product there since 2018. The trust page puts the database and backups on AWS eu-west-1 in Ireland. Intercom and Sentry process data in the United States. Assembled lists San Francisco and New York. That is where each company says it sits, not a claim that Assembled fails a privacy review. In-house stories include Robeco and Knab. See customer support, contact centers and the support-team blueprint. On every plan, the people answering your questions work on the product.
Pricing compared
Figures below are published list prices, checked on 28 September 2026. Soon's $4, $8 and $16 rates are billed yearly and exclude VAT. Assembled's $25, $45 and $75 rates are per agent per month, with no published billing term and no published platform fee. The pricing calculator prices Soon at your own headcount. The example is 25 agents plus 2 planners, at list.
| 25 agents + 2 planners | Soon Grow | Soon Scale | Assembled Core | Assembled Pro |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Billable seats | 27 users. Soon charges for active, invited and created users. | 27 users. Soon charges for active, invited and created users. | 25 agents. Assembled has not published how planners or admins are billed. | 25 agents. Assembled has not published how planners or admins are billed. |
| List price per seat | $8 per month, billed yearly | $16 per month, billed yearly | $25 per month | $45 per month |
| Monthly at list | $216 | $432 | $625 plus the platform fee | $1,125 plus the platform fee |
| Yearly at list | $2,592 | $5,184 | $7,500 plus the platform fee | $13,500 plus the platform fee |
The columns are different products. Assembled Core includes real-time adherence, which Soon does not offer. For automated scheduling, Soon Grow already includes it and Assembled puts AI schedule generation on Pro and up, so Scale's closest published Assembled tier is Pro. Assembled's yearly cells are twelve times the monthly list, because the billing term is not published. Negotiated prices can differ. Assembled has not published whether planners are billable, so this example charges 25 agents there and 27 users on Soon. If planners are billed, Assembled's total is higher. Going live: what each vendor says
Assembled's pricing FAQ says many customers can go live within a month, and it cites G2 for that figure. That is Assembled quoting a third-party review set, not a measurement Soon made. The same page, checked 28 September 2026, describes Enterprise white-glove onboarding as up and running in a few weeks.
You can create the Soon workspace yourself, or the founders and the people who build the product will onboard you. Most teams are live the same day. Larger teams take up to a week. Therese Arntsen, shift manager at Orkla, says on the pricing page: "Within a week we had our entire team onboarded." Enterprise rollouts can take longer, mostly because of the customer's own internal processes.
What slows go-live on any workforce tool is the work around the accounts. Historical volume has to be connected before a forecast is more than a guess. The rules have to be agreed: contracts, skills, breaks, and which activities exist inside a shift. The people who follow the schedule have to change how they request time off. Creating accounts is the short part. Intraday planning is only useful once those activities and coverage rules are written down.
Who you'll work with after you sign
Who will you work with after you sign, and can they show you a feature they shipped because a customer asked?
Soon's answer: customers work directly with the small team that builds the product. On every plan, the people answering your questions work on the product. The channel still depends on the plan: email on Start, in-app chat on Grow, priority support and personalized onboarding on Scale, a dedicated success manager and an SLA on Enterprise. "On every plan" means that group of people. It does not mean a named manager on the $4 tier.
During Robeco's pilot, the customer story says Soon added open sign-up groups with an optional minimum and maximum. On the pricing page, Alberto Ingrassano, operations lead at Werfen, says: "Every question we had was answered within hours, not days." More stories are on the customers index. Start's team skills record is on the skills page.
Assembled's pricing FAQ, checked 28 September 2026, gives Core and Pro email, Office Hours and a help center. Enterprise adds a designated account manager, a shared Slack channel, quarterly business reviews and white-glove onboarding. This page repeats that published model. It does not say Assembled's account managers lack influence on their roadmap, because that internal process is not something we can see.
If neither fits
Searches for Assembled alternatives often need a third product. If neither fits, these are the other places teams look.
- Zendesk WFM, for a team that lives in Zendesk and wants workforce management from the helpdesk vendor. Zendesk's own comparison with Assembled. Background on how Tymeshift became that product: what the acquisition changed.
- Playvox, now part of NICE, if quality management and workforce management need to sit in one contact center suite. Soon vs NICE.
- Peopleware (formerly injixo), for European contact centers that want a specialist workforce management suite. No Soon comparison is published yet, so this line is not linked.
- Your contact center platform's own workforce management, for example Genesys Cloud CX 3 or 4, when scheduling has to stay inside the platform that routes the calls. See also Soon vs Verint.
- Microsoft Shifts, for a very small fixed-shift group inside Microsoft 365. Soon vs Microsoft Shifts.

Does Assembled or Soon have real-time adherence?
Assembled includes real-time adherence monitoring from its Core tier, with Slack or email alerts when agents are out of adherence (pricing page, checked 28 Sep 2026). Soon does not offer real-time adherence. It focuses on forecasting, automatic scheduling and planning activities during the day, with coverage requirements and tracking on its Scale plan.
How long does it take to go live with Assembled or Soon?
Assembled says many customers can go live within a month, and Enterprise onboarding aims for a few weeks (pricing FAQ, checked 28 Sep 2026, citing G2 for the month). You can set Soon up yourself, or the founders and the people who build the product will onboard you. Most teams are live the same day, larger teams within a week, and enterprise rollouts can take longer, mostly because of internal processes. Orkla had its whole team onboarded within a week.
Which is better for a Zendesk team?
Assembled lists a Zendesk integration on its integrations page (checked 28 Sep 2026), so it can read Zendesk ticket data through a listed connector. Soon forecasts from imported ticket history or from Genesys call volumes, which suits teams that can export their history or plan phone and back-office work alongside tickets. Zendesk-only teams should also look at Zendesk WFM.
Can Soon or Assembled manage BPOs and outsourcers?
Assembled sells a Vendor Management add-on with a BPO capacity planner, schedule sync with a BPO's workforce management system, restricted site permissions and a BPO billing report (pricing page, checked 28 Sep 2026). Who will I work with after signing?
Assembled Core and Pro include email, Office Hours and a help center. Enterprise adds a designated account manager and a shared Slack channel (pricing page, checked 28 Sep 2026). At Soon, the people answering your questions work on the product, on every plan. During Robeco's pilot, Soon added open sign-up groups with minimum and maximum limits.
Is there a free trial of Soon or Assembled?
Soon's pricing page lists a free trial on every plan: 14 days on Start, 30 on Grow and 60 on Scale, with no credit card. Start is marked coming soon on that page. Assembled's pricing page offers demos and a sales quote and does not mention a free trial (checked 28 Sep 2026).
How does the switching process work?
Move a team from Assembled to Soon in four steps.
Create the workspace, import people, write the rules, and publish. Connecting history and agreeing the rules takes longer than the signup, on this tool or any other.
- 01
Create your workspace
Create a Soon workspace from the signup page. The trial does not ask for a credit card. Grow and Scale can be started there today. Start is listed on the pricing page and marked coming soon.
- 02
Import your team by CSV
Export people from the tool you use now and import them as a CSV. Set roles, skills and contract hours as the file comes in.
- 03
Set the rules
Add shift templates, the activities inside a shift (phone, email, back office, training, breaks) and the coverage you need.
- 04
Publish the schedule
Publish the first schedule and invite the team. The switch guide covers running the previous tool alongside Soon while people get used to the new one.
Start with the plan you can price
Grow and Scale can be started from the site, with a free trial and no credit card. Start is on the pricing page and marked coming soon. If the operation needs real-time adherence or a listed Zendesk integration, Assembled is the closer fit and this page says so. Soon does work with BPO and multi-client teams. That is not a separate product.
